New Community Centre and Library (South East Markham)
Pre-Design Community Consultation Meeting

The Town of Markham's Integrated Leisure Master Plan identified the need for an additional community centre and public library in the south east quadrant of the Town.

Preplanning is now underway to develop a site south and east of the Karachi Dr. extension and north of the storm water pond in the area east of Markham Rd and south of Kirkham Dr. The development site will also encompass a new community park which will be integrated with the community centre.

Come and attend a Pre-design Community Consultation meeting to share our ideas with Town Staff for the new Community Centre, Library and Park.

We encourage you to attend to give input to Town Staff. This will be our community centre. Let’s give them as much input as possible so that we can utilize this exciting upcoming facility.

Transportation Draft Plan for South East Markham

The Town of Markham in consultation with the Region of York and Metrolinx has developed a strategic plan for transportation.

It will cover the full gamut of components – transit, roads, cycling, demand management and development pressures. The draft plan will be presented to various council committees this month and will be presented to us at this meeting.The presentation will be tailored to provide local content for Ward 7.

The Town is interested in hearing from you about local hot topics, irritants, bottlenecks, etc. If you have some examples to share, I urge you to attend the meeting next week to share your concerns or you can email Brian Lee at the Town of Markham.
