At the end of June, I resigned as President of the RFRA to pursue a personal opportunity. My involvement with the
community and the RFRA for the last 13 years have definitely been one of the most fulfilling chapters in my life. I’ve
gotten to know so many of you in the community and I take with me a wealth of knowledge, joy & memories. I am
grateful for the opportunity.
I leave knowing that the current Association Directors will carry on as planned and my untimely departure will not
affect this Association. I will however miss my involvement with RFRA as I move forward.
The reason for my departure is that I have decided to run for Ward 7 Councillor in the upcoming election. Many of
you have expressed to me that we have not had enough representation at the Town and feel that I can fill that void
and be our voice at the Town. My plan is to be accessible, approachable and accountable as I look out for the best
interest of our Ward. Our Community comes First!
I hope that my past record in our community will win your vote and support on Oct 25th. I’m also looking for lots of
help in running my campaign. It could be as simple as you talking and introducing me to your friends & family in the
Ward, to volunteering on my campaign team, to supporting me with a donation or a lawn sign.
My new contact information will be: email- votedebbiewong@rogers.com, website- www.debbiewong.ca, phone
number- 905-471-4079. I hope to hear from you all.
Thank you for allowing me to lead our community these past 4 years, it has been my pleasure.
Debbie
