  2. for changes to be made to the Official Plan (OP 06 114566) and Zoning By-law (ZA 06 114576) to permit a retirement home facility at 2 Havelock Gate, southwest corner of 14th Avenue and Havelock Gate (see drawings).

Rezoning Application Submitted by Developer
Several applications have been submitted to the Town of Markham by Delpark Homes Ltd. They are looking at amending the Official Plan, Zoning and Site Plan for the area. In other words, re-zone the land at the corner of 14th and Havelock Gate (2 Havelock Gate) from local commercial to institutional in order to build a 3 story, 82 units facility for seniors.

What We Know:

  • The building is proposed to have 82 retirement units and a commercial component on the lower level.
  • The units will consist of bedrooms and only one common area for cooking/dining for their residents.
  • Number of parking space available is 53 (32 resident, 21 visitor).
  • Building is proposed to be 3 storeys in height (10.295 m high).
  • The proposed building's front is located to the back of the property (facing the golf course), the side is along 14th Avenue with a setback of 1.8m from the curb.
  • The back of the building is located on Havelock Gate with a setback of 4.5 m from the curb.
  • Delpark Homes Ltd. is the Developer submitting the applications to the Town.
  • The official plan for our neighbourhood is classified under Urban Residential with the Town of Markham.
  • Current zoning for the Southwest corner of 14th Avenue/Havelock Gate is Local Commercial.
